The story of Ailerons begins in 2009, when I was developing my graduation project for college.
The typography was part of a concept visual identity, inspired by aircraft models from the 40s, which made intense use of condensed letters.
The idea was to use the curves that refer to aircraft ailerons to build the letter's identity. The name of the font came up from this concept.
The unusual space between letters, present since the first version, indicates its best use.
